New Jeep® Cherokee Named Most American Vehicle by Cars.com

Looking for an American-made vehicle? It doesn’t get better than the Jeep® Cherokee, and this model has the award to prove it. Recently, Cars.com named the Cherokee the Most American Vehicle based on its American-made scoring index. This particularly patriotic Jeep® is perfect for drivers who want to support workers and industries who are close to home.

The FCA website notes that the Most American Vehicle award is based on five major factors to determine which vehicle is most “American”: assembly location, domestic parts content, engine sourcing, transmission sourcing, and factory jobs provided by manufacturer plants. The Cherokee scored higher than any other vehicle on the market, providing more American jobs and using the highest number of American-made parts.

In response to the honor, the Head of Jeep® Brand — North America Jim Morrison said “We salute the dedicated employees who build the Cherokee, the most capable midsize SUV on the planet, as well as all the loyal Jeep® owners who drive it.”

Jeep® has been an American icon since 1943, when it began providing reliable vehicles to overseas military personnel in World War II. Today, the Cherokee is assembled in Belvidere, Illinois, at a plant that employs over 5,000 American workers.

Between the Cherokee’s continued Most American status and the 2019 model’s exciting new look and 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, there’s never been a better time to drive this vehicle. Stop by Hometown Motors and take one for a spin.
