taking care of your FordMost of us drive our cars every day, whether it’s to and from work, taking the kids to activities, or running daily errands. With all this use, our cars can get a lot of wear and tear. With a few simple steps, you can be taking care of your Ford to ensure it stays in top shape.

Clean your car every month

Just as you clean your house on a regular basis, you need to consistently clean your car as well. Designate a day every month where you clean the interior and exterior of your car.

Change the oil regularly

Check your Ford owner’s manual to find the recommended service schedule and see how often you should get the oil changed. It will likely be between 5,000 and 7,500 miles, so you should stick to that schedule.

Check the tires

Once a month, you should inspect all the tires on your car. Check for signs of wear, check the tire pressure, and check the tread depth.

Consider the brakes

Whenever you get the oil changed, have the mechanic look at the brakes to make sure they have enough life. In general, brake pads should be replaced every 50,000 miles, but if you hear any squealing or experience stopping problems, bring your car to a mechanic to get it checked as soon as possible.

As you take care of your Ford, bring it in to Hometown Motors for a routine service checkup. From oil changes to tire rotations, our mechanics are ready to help.
