Have you ever wished you could find the Holy Grail of utility vehicles, one that combines the ruggedness of a Jeep® but the functionality of a pickup truck? Well, we might finally have it. Jeep® recently announced the newest addition to its model lineup: the Scrambler ute.
Rumors of a pickup truck variant of the Wrangler JL have been flying around, and they’re finally coming true. The Scrambler, which is expected to go on sale in the summer of 2019, combines the boxy frame of the beloved Wrangler with – you guessed it – a pickup truck box that is perfect for hauling all your gear.
It will have the Wrangler’s ladder-frame chassis, making it ideal for off-road use. This ute will also be able to tow over 7,500 pounds. Under the hood, you will find two engine options – a version of the newest Wrangler’s 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder and a 3.6-liter V6.
As you would expect from a Jeep® vehicle, the Scrambler will likely be Trail Rated and should come with an available removable roof. That way, you don’t have to give up the ability to feel the wind through your hair as you head off on your next big adventure. We at Hometown Motors can’t wait to get this new model on our lot.
