Idaho is a beautiful place to live. If you live near the capital, there is beauty everywhere you look. Here are some of the best scenic drives near Boise that you and your Ford will love to take.
Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway
This drive takes you through the shaded roads of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. Allow about three hours to complete the drive, and when you’re done, you will likely feel calm and centered thanks to the breathtaking views and remarkable solitude.
Snake River-Mormon Basic Back Country Byway
All across this region are scatted wildlife preserves. Many of the wooded areas are reforestation projects. On this drive, you will pass through river canyon, aspen-lined meadows, and into the wooded mountains. This drive will take about two and a half hours and will cover 130 miles.
Western Heritage Historic Byway
If you are looking for a shorter drive, this byway covers just 40 miles of open road. It will take you from large urban areas to small rural communities. It passes through the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conversation Area. Be sure to bring along a guide book and a pair of binoculars to get a closer look at some of these spectacular nesting birds.
