For 2018, Ford is coming back with a laundry list of improvements to its already-popular F-series family of trucks. The Ford F-150 update will reportedly include increases in power and fuel economy thanks to a more lightweight construction and a range of new engine and transmission pairings. The modifications to the powertrain will make the new F-150 the most powerful version yet.

The 2018 F-150 will offer, in total, a whopping five different engines for drivers. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and 5.0-liter V8 will be returning with modifications to make them more efficient and powerful, while the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and high-output 3.5-liter on the Raptor will remain the same. The newest addition to the engine lineup will be the 3.3-liter V6, which delivers 290 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque, and in spring of 2018 the automaker will also introduce a new 3.0-liter diesel V6.
The new and upgraded engines will make use of direct and port injection technology, which allow them to get more power out of less fuel, and they will also be paired with the F-150’s cutting-edge 10-speed transmission.
