Routine Summer Car Maintenance

summer car maintenanceHigh temperatures can be rough on your car, so it’s important to do some routine summer car maintenance tasks to get it ready for the weather and keep it going throughout the season. Here are some easy tasks you can do at home or have done by your mechanic.

Now that spring is drawing to a close and summer is coming, it’s a good idea to get an oil change if you haven’t had one in a while, or at least check the oil to see if it’s at the right level and it’s not too dirty. Going into summer, you want your engine to be running as well as possible.

While you’re checking the oil, you should also look at your coolant. It may be time to get a coolant flush if it is too low or looks dirty, or you may just need to add more. Either way, you want to make sure you have enough good coolant to keep your engine cool.

Now is also a good time to check your belts and hoses. If you see any that are cracked, leaking, or fraying, you’ll want to get them replaced. The heat can make them swell and make leaking worse, so make sure they’re in good shape.

These are just a few important maintenance tasks to take care of during the summer. Check out this page for more!

  1. Routine maintenance is necessary for cars. However, you have to follow different techniques for different seasons. If we take on summer, the air conditioner should be checked first. It not only keeps us cool bu also to the engine. If the engine gets hot, it cannot function well. The pressure of tires should be checked carefully and try to keep it low as compared to other seasons as due to the rise in atmospheric temperature, the pressure inside the tires increase. The condition of the engine oil and air conditioner should also be checked.
