The Ford Fusion is rolling into the fifth year of its current generation. However, the eye-catching design is as distinctive as before and it gets even better with some updates and upgrades. Updates for the 2017 Ford Fusion include the new Sync 3 infotainment system, a new ultra-luxurious Platinum trim, a new powerful V6 engine in the V6 Sport model, and refreshed styling at the front end.
Because of the success of its styling, the Fusion’s design was only slightly tweaked this year with changes to the wheel selection, lower front bumper, and taillights.
Other changes, however, are more dramatic with the addition of two new trim levels—one for those who love being surrounded by luxury and one for those who want more performance from their cars.
The Fusion Platinum comes with leather not just on the seats, but on the doors, steering wheel, and trim highlights. There is also a pleasant finish on the dashboard, a quilted pattern on the seats, and wood and aluminum finishes throughout.
For more power, buyers can choose the Fusion Sport, which will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. Ford says this engine will make 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. This will be matched to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, a continuously adaptive suspension, a quad-tipped exhaust system, and other styling tweaks.
